Group Equipment Classes

studio s by far the best place to work out in Cincinnati.  The new space is beautiful and bright. The instructors are positive, prepared and organized.  I love the smaller class sizes! The instructors really care about the clients.  They take the time to get to know us.  The personal relationship combined with the small class size has helped me grow so much as an athlete. It’s evident that everyone at studio s is SO passionate about fitness.  The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and prepared to work with all types of people.  They offer corrections on form and technique and provide great modifications to make the workouts harder or easier so that everyone gets what they need out of class. The s60 classes are a great mix of weights, bodyweight strength, cardio bursts, and core.  I come to class knowing that each class will be different, dynamic and fun. I’ve learned so much about proper form and core engagement from studio s.

Working out in Susie’s s60 class is the highlight of my week.  Susie is enthusiastic and inspiring.  She takes the time to really connect with each client.  She knows just when to push us.  She knows when we can do more, motivates us and celebrates each accomplishment.  She makes an effort to plan dynamic creative classes.  No two classes are the same, but every class is the perfect mix of fun and challenging. After working out with her for ten years, I am stronger, healthier and have greater confidence in what my body can do.

The studio s community is so positive and up-lifting.  We build each other up during workouts, cheer each other on, and celebrate lifting heavy stuff and sweating together. There are no egos; just a lot of great people working together under the guidance of passionate instructors to sweat and move.  Coming to s60 classes is the best part of my week!  I leave class covered in sweat and so proud of everything I accomplished and what I got to be a part of.”

studio s is truly a unique and special place. I’ve tried many gyms in the past but studio s is the first place where I’ve been able to stay consistent in my exercise routine, literally, for years. Some of the things I love about the studio are:
Small class sizes, personal attention and community. I’ve attended a strength class once a week for over three years and every week, it’s the same small group of people. Not only are we a workout “team”, we’ve become great friends. Because the classes are small, I’ve been taught the correct way to do each exercise and movement, which I don’t think you get in larger groups. The workouts are always well thought out, continue to be challenging and are never exactly the same.

Positivity and encouragement. Susie and her team are some of the most positive people I know. I find myself not only leaning on studio s for my physical health but also for my mental health. They truly believe in being grateful for the bodies we’ve been given and have helped me come up with an individual plan to achieve various goals over the years.

To say I love studio s and the people there is an understatement. I feel a deep connection, security and trust with the trainers there. I always leave the studio feeling stronger and uplifted. It’s one of my favorite places to be and was the top most missed place for me when the world shut down due to the pandemic.”

“Susie and her studio s team have created a great fitness community for me and so many others.  I love the boutique nature of the studio and the fact that they add to the positive vibe and culture of the neighborhood. From the moment I walk through the doors, it feels good—its welcoming and inclusive. I’m a weekly class participant and what keeps me coming back is a combination of the individual attention I receive, the friendly, upbeat and knowledgeable trainers, the fitness level achieved and the community of friendships that have been created”.

“I've been coming to studio s since it opened. Susie and her team do a great job of offering excellent workouts in a safe and friendly environment. The instructors are conscientious and attentive, and it's easy to find a class that fits into my schedule. I feel that Susie and her team truly care about me and my health. In addition to always getting a good workout, I have fun at studio s. It's a fun and enjoyable experience which keeps me coming back each week.”

“As I approach my 300th Pilates Reformer class at studio s, I realize that, not only does time fly, but that I’ve enjoyed every single one of my 298 classes there. Not only is every workout a challenge, but the instructors make sure that the content is so varied that no two classes are the same. I also love the fact that the reformer classes are sized so that I feel as though I’m getting very personalized attention from the instructor every single time. I’m definitely looking forward to my next 300 classes!”

Private Run Coaching

“When I decided to run my first marathon, I knew that I would need a group for structure and accountability. I had previously trained with other groups in Cincinnati for shorter races, but the marathon required a whole new approach. Studio s was this fresh option for me, especially with a running protocol that felt very customized for my abilities and experiences. The training plan offered the right amount of structure and introduced new ideas about heart rate training that got me to the start line and across the finish line feeling awesome. The experienced studio s coaches offered laughs and support along the way, making the experience fun and rewarding.

I've worked with Susie over the years through private run coaching in a variety of distances: half marathon, full marathon and ultra-marathons. Susie offers an incredible one-on-one coaching experience that meets you where you are and pushes you to identify big goals and chase them with passion and grit. My most memorable experience to date was training for a 3-day trail race across the Rocky Mountains. The fact that Susie had direct experience running this race herself helped, and the plan she built for me gave me confidence to take on this audacious goal and to conquer each day...even when unexpected challenges arose. The behavioral part of Susie's coaching is how I was able to keep grinding through the race against the odds and is such an important piece of endurance training that probably gets overlooked if you are trying to do it yourself or are following a generic template.”

“When I first came to Susie (and studio s) for run coaching, I was a very inexperienced runner. I had no idea what I wanted out of running but I knew that I needed someone to guide me on this new adventure I set out on. Susie completely changed my world around, she went above and beyond what I expected out of a coach. She got to know me as a person and understood my needs as an athlete, along side run coaching, I started seeing her for strength as well. She taught me that in order to stay healthy and strong, strength was such an important part. I improved drastically with her training approach and as I got better she adapted so that I would continue to improve. Without Susie and the belief she instilled in me I seriously would not be where I am today. I went from a 1:36 half marathoner with no running experience to qualifying, competing and placing 49th at the 2020 Olympic Trials all in a matter of a couple years. I owe my progression and success to the foundation I built with Susie as my coach.”

“Over the past two years I've had the privilege of having Susie design two different training plans to help me train for separate adventure runs (100k with 22k gain/loss and 100mi FKT with 34k/everest/gain/loss) over courses that came with lofty expectations from my body and mind to be successful. Come race day, I felt more than prepared and confident that I would be able to achieve these goals. Susie's training plans included a number of weekly key workouts that I could pick from based on how my training was going or how I was feeling on that particular day and also guidance on how I should approach each daily run. Both of my adventure runs included a large amount of elevation gain so Susie added weekly elevation goals that I was asked to hit to further keep myself accountable and ready for the challenges on race day. Her training plans were challenging in the respect that I needed to work hard to achieve my goals but left room for me to absorb the training and had built in recovery weeks that were placed perfectly and clearly, with intent. It's clear that Susie has a great eye for what a long term training plan needs to include, for an athlete to be successful and reach their goals.”

“I started training for my first marathon with 2 months of private running coaching before joining SSRT.  In my opinion, I was in good cardiovascular shape going into private coaching but did not have the running experience and endurance needed for long runs.  The individual coaching exceeded my expectations and quite honestly is probably the main reason I ran 26.2 miles and enjoyed every mile. Susie set clear daily run goals and taught me the fundamentals of good running form/technique, MAF training (a term that was foreign to me before the private coaching!), cadence, nutrition, and importantly rest days.  Susie’s coaching style is involved, reviewing workout summaries and progress with benchmark runs, calming and motivating.  The private coaching appeased all of my ‘first time’ questions and concerns.  The coaching continued through my first race weekend jitters: what to wear, food to bring, hydration requirements, and planning for unexpected high temperatures.  The jump start to the running group with private coaching built my foundation to ensure I was up to speed for the group runs and made the group experience easy to adapt.  I started private coaching with Susie to run one full marathon for my 40th Birthday and enjoy it.  I can say I not only completed my goal but now have additional aspirations to complete a second marathon and start to set pace goals.  A quote that still resonates with me “I dare you to train for a marathon and not have it change your life” ~Susan Sidoriak.  My first marathon has certainly changed me and I would not have been successful without Susie and SSRT.”

“I never dreamed of training for a marathon, let alone completing one. Partially because I had no desire but also because I never truly thought I could do it successfully. After meeting Susie and hearing about her coaching program, something in me began to stir. A strong desire to grow in discipline and courage started emerging as well as the desire to accomplish something I never thought my body could do. I took the plunge and signed up for my first marathon/marathon training program. There was only one person/program I trusted to set me up for success and that was Susie Crossland-Dwyer. Her knowledge and expertise are what made me feel confident about taking on something so new and scary.

Susie’s coaching makes you believe you can do anything you set out to do and she gracefully balances that by always reminding you to listen to your body and stay in tune with what it’s telling you. Training for my first marathon with Susie remains by far one of the most powerful life experiences to date. I learned so much; not just about running but about myself. I will be forever grateful to Susie for offering a program that fosters both physical strength and personal growth.”

“When I began searching for a coach, I didn’t know exactly what I was looking for, but I knew I wanted someone who would provide accountability, motivation, and the knowledge needed to help me reach my goals. Susie offered this and so, so much more. Not only does she walk (lives and breathes and runs) the talk, and inspires others by simply living her life, but she is a wealth of information as well. By asking helpful question and gathering important feedback, along with metrics, Susie created a training plan tailored to my unique needs and goals.

While I’ve never actually met Susie in person because she coached me remotely, I feel like I’ve known her for years. She is incredibly easy to talk to, relatable, and encourages in a meaningful way, yet she knew exactly when I needed a push out of my comfort zone. She called me out when she knew I was strong enough physically but that my mental game needed work. She gave me the questions and the tools to dig deep and strengthen my mental game, all the while making it clear that she believed in me.

Despite some major setbacks, with Susie’s expertise and support, I met my goal, and felt the strongest mentally and physically that I have ever felt running a marathon. If you’re looking for someone who offers a unique combo of personality, expertise, and passion, look no further, you’ve just found your coach.”

“Before leaving Ohio for a new career opportunity in California, I trained extensively with Anna and a variety of instructors at the Studio. I joined the running group, attended various group fitness classes, and worked with a personal trainer weekly. After relocating, I continued to run but knew that I would need guidance if I ever wanted to train for a race again. Virtual coaching was new to me. The support and encouragement, both in person and long distance, is a must for me when I am tackling a challenge such as a race. Anna provided a wonderful program that dovetailed nicely with my personal goals and a very hectic schedule. I was set up to feel successful from the beginning, and that morale boost was huge. I continue to work with Anna virtually for both run coaching as well as personal training and Pilates mat sessions. The convenience of my home studio when away from Cincinnati keeps me connected to a wonderful support system.”
